Our final event for the year and once again we were blessed with good weather! A great day out for us all and a lovely meal to finish off the day.
Scores were generally good with the (can’t win twice) honours going to Brian Temlett with 33 points and runners up Gary Breatcliffe with 32 points and Allan Perry with 30 points. Sadly that’s it for this year but we all look forward to more great golfing days in 2025.
The golfing gods are certainly looking after us this year. Nothing better than being by the beach on a lovely sunny day. The food gets better too, a lovely Lasagne, Salad and Chips!
Scores for the day were high but the winner was Steve Downes with 32 points and joint runners up Brian McCammon and Tony Hebden with 31 points.
What a day! We all drove up in the rain but at 1.00pm on the first tee the rain stopped, the clouds cleared and we all had a really great day. Scoring was good across the board but it was Graham Young that topped the list with 35 points, with runner up Steve Mathis with 30 followed by Tony Hebden with 29. We ended the day with Chicken in a Peppercorn Sauce. Clean plates all round!!

As always Staddon heights Golf Club looked after us very well including an excellent meal afterwards. Top honours for the day went to Dave Vosper with 34 points, runner up Tony Hebden with 31 points and third place to Ian Roper with 30 points. Well done all.
This one is going to be hard to beat, the new couse is finished now and we were lucky enough to be amongst the first to play it! What a treat, this must now rank as one of the finest Westcountry golf courses. Needless to say the meal afterwards was gold star and rounded off a perfect day. Julian Cooper came in first with 38 points, with runners up Graham Young (35) and Terry Maber (33).
We must all pray hard to the golfing gods because even in October we were blessed with a lovely day. The greens were perhaps a little slow, so a good test of our abilities!
A day of good scores with our newcomer Steve Mathis taking top spot with 36 points, Graham Young runner up with 31 and Andy Hardinge in third place with a very creditable 29 points.
In a month of very unsettled weather we managed to find a rather cloudy but dry day for another excellent golf day. Torquay are always good hosts and looked after us very well. The course was lush and the greens quite fast, so a good test of our abilities!
A day of good scores and a tie for top spot with 41 points, Steve Downes and Julian Cooper. Runner up, Ian Roper with 33 points.
After deciding to put this event back a week due to a terrible weather forecast we were eventually blessed with a really lovely day, a little breezy perhaps, but that’s Staddon Heights! Another great day out followed by a really excellent meal.
Top honour for the day, our superstar Gary Breatcliffe with 36 points, with runners up Dave Vosper (29) and Graham Young (28).
Probably one of our best golf days ever. Combine perfect weather with a course which is becoming one of the finest in our area and a meal that deserved a Michelin star! It really doesn’t get any better.
Very slick greens but still some decent scores. The winner was Graham Young with 35 points followed by Brian Temlett with 34 and Julian Cooper with 33. All in all, one to remember.
What a great start to the year! Thank you all for a great turn out. Probably the best weather this year and a balmy 15 degrees!

As ususal the course was in good condition and the meal afterwards well up to the high standards at Lanhydrock. Gary Breatcliffe won the day with 33 points, closely followed by Julian Cooper and David Hills.
The drizzle stopped and the fog lifted just in time for our first tee time! In fact the weather was warm and even the sun popped out once or twice. All in all, ideal golfing conditions! Another great day for us all and a lovely meal afterwards. The worthy winner on the days was Graham Young with 35 points, closely followed by Dave Vosper and John Smerdon, each with 34 points.
With rumbles of thunder on the first tee, the black clouds parted and we had the most woderful weather and another great days golf. It really does seem golf clubs have raised their catering standards as the steak and ale pie with three dishes of vegetables was superb! Resident bandit Julian came in first with 48 points, followed up by Brian Temlett and Eric Brewer
A belated start to the year but the weather was kind, the course was in great condition and the food afterwards exceptional! Really good to see some new faces at this event.
Graham Young came in first place with 36 points followed by Julian Cooper and Greg Freeth. Thank you everyone for your great support.
Another day to remember. We had to put up with a few temporary greens but golf for a tenner can’t be bad and the meal afterwards was really lovely!
Julian Cooper carded and truly amazing 50 points and needless to say was the winner on the day. Gary Breatcliffe came in second with 41 points and Eric Brewer a creditable third with 38 points. Well done all.
After 23 month we’re back up and running again! And what a way to start! The course at Torquay was immaculate, the weather was amazing and the food as good as ever.
Julian Cooper took the honours with 39 points, followed by Chris Keane with 37 points and John Smerdon in third place with 35 points.
No better way to finish our 2019 season. It was a tough round of golf but the weather was kind to us again and the food nothing short of amazing!
The scoring reflected the difficulty of the course but Gary Breatcliffe stole the day with a very well earned 31 points, closely followed by Mike Martin and Eric Brewer with a most acceptable 28 points.

Yet again we dodged the bad weather and had a lovely day at Churston Golf Club. We received a very warm welcome from the club, the course was in fantastic condition and the meal afterwards right up there with the best. It was our first visit, but I'm sure we will be back again next year.
Star performer of the day was Gary Breatcliffe, closly followed by Alan Phillips and Terry Maber.
Well the weather gods were certainly on our side. With temperatures up in the 20’s, we all thought we were away in Spain! The course was in great condition with fairways running fast and the greens running even faster! We rounded the day off with a cool pint and a lovely fish & chip supper. Tim Dawe won the day with 40 points, closely followed by Terry Maber who carded a 39
What a day! 21 players, our best turn out yet, and we were rewarded with a fine day, a well maintained golf course and a wonderful meal afterwards. This event attracted 5 new faces which is great to see and I hope you guys willl support us when you can in the future.
Stuart Chipman (shown holding his balls!) was a worthy winner carding 41 points and leading his team to victory.
We like our food!! It's not all golf, after a hard round we like to relax with a nice meal and a pint and that's just how our day at Dainton Park ended. We all had another great day with excellent weather on a superb course in first class condition. A big thank you to all those who supported.
A really great start to our golfing society season! The weather was amazing, like mid-summer and some pretty good scores from those who played well. The very worthy winner of the day was Tim Dawe with 36 points and runner up Dave Ward with 34 points. As usual Torquay were great hosts and if there were a Michelin star for Ham, Egg and Chips they would most certainly get one!
